Mobilising for Justice in Belarus

Yelena Shinkarevich has been a lawyer in multiple administrative cases against the protesters since August 2020 as well as signed the petition asking the Belarusian authorities to stop the violence. The inspection of the Qualification Commission on the issues of advocacy in the Republic of Belarus on 4 March 2021 revealed the alleged facts of violation by several lawyers of the Law on the Bar, the Rules of Professional Ethics of a Lawyer, violations in the preparation of legal documents, contracts for the provision of legal assistance, orders. Yelena Shinkarevich was among those lawyers. The commission decided that Shinkarevich was unable to fulfil her professional duties due to insufficient qualifications.
