Mobilising for Justice in Belarus

Andrei Machalau was a defender in many criminal cases against protests activists and HRDs, including TUT.by journalist Katsiaryna Barysevich. He was disbarred for alleged violation of professional ethics on 18 June 2021. Reportedly, the comment he provided in relation to the case of his client Volha Zalatar became the reason for making such decision. According to Machalau, Zalatar claimed she was subjected to psychological and physical violence after her arrest.
